The gum abscess is the consequence of a biting conflict “not being able to bite” concerning the jawbone. In the active phase, the jaw osteolysis (hole in the bone, bone becomes thinner), causing the gums to retract (periodontosis). If this biting conflict is resolved, the hole in the jaw is filled up again with swelling and callus formation.
